Set in the American South, HOSEA is a provocative, modern-day retelling of a bible story through the eyes of the forgotten female character. Rather than white-washing the ancient Hebrew tale, Hosea offers an updated lens, challenging the traditional patriarchal focus and questioning the assumptions historically brought to this narrative.
When an Oklahoman call girl discovers that her childhood sweetheart has moved back to town, she’s given the chance to leave the sex trade and lead the life she thought she always wanted. But her journey is challenged with substance abuse, mental illness, and the messiness of love. In the midst of that darkness, she must fight to gain a sense of self-worth and self-acceptance.
